Quickwit

Quickwit is an open-source cloud-native search engine built on top of object storage like S3 that provides sub-second search over petabyte-scale log and trace data at a fraction of the infrastructure cost of Elasticsearch or Splunk by separating storage from compute and using efficient columnar indexing. Its compatibility with OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing formats makes it a natural fit for observability use cases where data volumes make traditional search engines prohibitively expensive. Platform engineering and observability teams managing high-volume log and trace data use Quickwit to achieve fast search over large observability datasets without the storage and compute costs that make traditional search-based observability platforms expensive at scale.
